Story
Hi there!
This year marks the 10th anniversary of my life saving bone marrow transplant after being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in 2013.
To mark this milestone I will be racing the 110km UCI Gran Fondo World Series qualifying event in the Australian Unity Tour de Brisbane to raise funds for transplant research.
This is also part of my preparation for the World Transplant Games which I'm competing in 2 weeks later in Perth as a member of the Australian team!
As a transplant recipient, and having the privilege to work in a hospital that specialises in organ transplant, I know from both perspectives how important it is to support the research that enables the incredible medical breakthroughs and ongoing world class services that we have access to.
Organ transplants save lives, but they also change lives in the most profound way. By riding for transplant researchers and recipients, I am doing my bit to help those impacted to live healthier for longer.
The funds raised will help to continue research into organ transplants and related conditions like heart disease, lung disease, and ICU care.
It costs just $48 to fund an hour of research with The Common Good. That means every dollar counts.
Can you help me reach my goal?
